    This is a pair of papers which are
    180 years old
    . They are printed in a small format, measuring 7” by 10.75” in size, and are each 8 pages long. They came from bound volumes so they have typical minor disbinding marks at their spines, but are otherwise in fine and very attractive condition.
    The Saturday Magazine
    was a weekly London publication, but these particular issue were monthly Supplements which were put out in addition to the regular weekly. These entire issues are devoted to
    The Island of Malta.
    The text of the August, 1840, issue presents coverage on these aspects of the Island, and its history:
    1. General Remarks.
    2. Early History of the Maltese Islands.
    3. Early History of the Knights of Malta.
    4. Commencement of the Modern Military Importance of Malta.
