2 Rare Photos GEISHA DOLLS DISPLAY 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition "B"

$ 30.62

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Condition: These photographs are from a collection belonging to a Japanese American family living in California circa 1900s to 1940s. They participated in many of the cultural events at the World's Fair. These images were shot in one of the pavilions. I couldn't find any other record of these dolls. They look like they may be life-size and extremely realistic. The only thing that gives them away as not being flesh and blood (to me) are their hands. On the back of one photo is some penciled Japanese writing - which may help with the story. Photos Measure 3.25 x 4.5 Inches. Very Good condition. One Has a Horizontal Crease. Please Examine Scans / Photos. This is a one-of-a kind original period item, NOT a more modern copy or reproduction.
