A superb and rare imagetive, of the very first experimenttalBMW RS 500 worksracer
from 1939.
The photographed machine can be considered as a 500cc Kompressor without the Supercharger. This machine was raced by Schorsch Meier in a number of races in 1939 and 1940 and was the basis for the successful RS racing bike series that graced the circuits in the 1940’s and especially the 1950’s..
The RS was a terrific, powerful and mighty machine which was very successful in racing.
It is a
non period
photo that will be a great tribute in the collection of any BMW enthusiast!
