Up for sale are items from the 1939-40 Golden Gate International Exposition. The lot includes a large booklet with stunning black and white photos of the buildings and attractions. The booklet measures 10.5" by 13.5", has 24 pages, photos by Gabriel Moulin and others. Another larger booklet promotes the Exposition, titled "San Joaquin Valley Guide", with photos of the Exposition, plus maps, details and advertising about cities and places in California (I think this was a handout at one of the Pavilions). There are three smaller pamphlets from the Exposition: One advertising Sunkist fruit (this was a mailer that folded to postcard size); another advertising California Ripe Olives, with 12 olive recipes inside; and an auto map of San Francisco with Exposition graphics and advertising for local hotels. There are five postcards: Hall of Western States, Union Pacific Exhibit, a photo postcard showing the Court of Seven Seas, and the P.G. & E. Exhibit (two of these). In addition, there is a set of 10 commemorative labels / stamps issued by Associated Oil Company, and a set of 10 black and white labels / stamps showing views of the Exposition. Also, there is a snapshot / photo of Robbie Rockwell (a child actor and fledgling photographer) and his mother, taken on Treasure Island in 1940. (Note: they were visiting the Expo from Hollywood, where Rockwell was a regular on radio programs. He is holding his camera case in the photo). A total of 30 different items. Overall, the items are in good/very good condition, all pages complete, postcards unposted. Buyer pays .95 shipping in the US.
