    Description

This a selection of lovely items from the incomparable HOTEL HASSLER VILLA MEDICI which sits at the top of the Spanish Steps in Rome.  The menu which is dated May 4, 1961 has a list in French of all the tempting dishes one could have ordered for Lunch or Dinner that day. The set price for a three course Lunch or Dinner was LIRE 2000 plus 24% tax and service. The menu is on paper and held inside the glossy  cover with a red ribbon. It measures 7 1/2 inches by 10 1/2 inches and is in excellent vintage condition. The advertising brochure which probably dates from the same time has numerous color photos of the public areas and surrounding views but not of the bedrooms. The text is in English, French and Spanish and the cover  features the Spanish Steps with Trinita dei Monti at the top and the hotel at the right. It measures 4 inches by 8 7/8 inches when closed and 15 3/4 inches by 13 1/2 inches when fully open. It is in excellent, unmarked condition. The third part of the listing is an information brochure which features the art of ANGELO ROSSI with a cover drawing of the same scene that appears on the cover of the advertising brochure. It opens up to reveal a panorama of the fabulous view from the rooftop terrace of the HASSLER and all the landmarks are named. Two pages of description are given in Italian. This brochure measures 7 inches by 8 1/2 inches when closed and 7 inches by 33 1/2 inches when fully open. Except for two tiny dark spots (chocolate?) at the top of the inside panorama it is in wonderful condition and at the lower right you can read ANGELO ROSSI DIS. 1948.
