    Description

A superb and rare photo of the by the famous Dutchman
    Jan Kampen
    immaculately prepared
    Moto Guzzi V7 Sport
    during a pit-stop of the
    1980 World Championship Endurance race
    that was held on the
Assen T.T. circuit of the Netherlands
    on the
    15
    th
    of May 1980
    .
Local Dutch riders Fred Coopman and Henk Kiewiet finished an astonishing 10
    th
, in a field absolutely dominated by works machines like for instance the Honda RCB 1000 fours and the Kawasaki 1000 fours, which were ridden by top riders like Léon, Chemarin, Fontan, Moineau.
An amazing result, as Kampen’s pushrod operated, twin cylinder V7 Sport was produced in 1973, and consequently did not have a Cro-Mo frame like some of Kampen’s predecessor V7 Sport racers.
It was however immaculately prepared as Kampen was a true specialist that had extremely good connections with the Guzzi factory and people like Lino Tonti, the designer of the V7 Sport.
The engine featured many special parts, using 1970s experimental racing parts that came straight from the Guzzi factory.
Jan Kampen started racing in the 1950s, in the 1960s he developed a passion for long distance racing.
The photographed Moto Guzzi V7 Sport endurance racer would be the last racer he would prepare, cumulating 3 decades of racing experience into one, wonderful machine that wrote astonishing history that May day at Assen in 1980!
It would be the very last big success of the original V7 Sport!
This is a very nice and very rare
    non period
photo that reflects a wonderful and very historic era of Moto Guzzi ‘s V7 Sport history in a wonderful way, therefore it is printed in a nice large format of ca.
    8" x
    12" (ca.
    20 cm
    x
    30 cm
). It makes it perfectly suitable for framing!
The V7 Sport also is the forefather of the current Moto Guzzi California , EV , Stone , Aluminium , Titanium (etc.) models, as well as the forefather of numerous other previous Guzzi models like the Moto Guzzi Le Mans , the SP 1000 , Hydro Convert , T3 , 750 S etc.
Shipping costs will only be $ 7.00 regardless of how many photos you buy.   For 5 or more photos, shipping is free!
