$ 5.14

Availability: 100 in stock

Description

A superb photo, made from what I believe is the original negative, taken during the 500 km race at the circuit of
Monza
in 1972.
Shown is Tonti's right hand, and main test rider and racer of the
V7 Sport Telaio Rosso or V7 Sport Red Frame
: Luciano Gazzola. Together with Carena he finished fifth in the 500 kilometers race of
Monza
in 1972.
Gazzola and Carena drove a completely stock V7 Sport Telaio Rosso, with lighting, rear passenger footpegs, stock mufflers, crashbars and so on.
The only modification was the tires.
They were made in the molds of the ancient Guzzi Falcone tires, but with a more modern compound.
It was a truly excellent achievement because Gazzola and Carena drove this stock Telaio Rosso in the specials class
, where one off factory racers with full fairings were common.
It says a lot about the Telaio Rosso and about Gazzola and Carena as the drivers.
The pictures that were taken of their bike with starting number 34 during this excellent race were headline news in the motorcycle press at the time.
No wonder Guzzi still uses today pictures of the famous number 34 in the publicity campaign of their
V11 Sport.
The first brochure showed of the new Sport, in front of a V7 Sport Telaio Rosso.
On the wall of that handsome scene
is exactly this photo
of the number 34 racing bike, with Gazzola racing in anger. The picture was not chosen by coincidence!
This is a very rare opportunity to obtain this
non period
photo!
A great historic picture. Format: ca. 7.8" x 11.8" (20 x 30 cm).
Shipping costs will only be $ 7.00 regardless of how many photos you buy.   For 5 or more photos, shipping is free!
