DESCRIPTION
:
This auction features a vintage Mylu Christmas Tree pin or brooch. It is actually styled to look more like a poinsettia to a certain degree, as well. There is what I believe to be a cold (or thin?) red enamel paint over a gold-tone metal. On the "tree" portion itself, there are a few light green and light yellow rhinestones inset. Toward the bottom, the tree looks like to be held in a stylized planter, with a handful of AB rhinestones inset along the top edge. It is marked on the back with, "c. MYLU." I will note here, too, that I would ask that the "Condition" section below be fully read.
I am unsure why, but the pin piece simply will NOT stay inside the safety clasp closure -- and, I cannot figure out why
. Either way, please read below for
additional
information concerning this. If anyone should have any additional questions regarding this piece, please feel free to message me and I'll be happy to help. Please do view the pictures as a part of the overall description, as well. Thank you!
CONDITION
:
FAIR to Fair MINUS
~
I am considering the age and use of this item when factoring the condition rating
.
This pin appears to be in Fair to Fair
MINUS
condition for the age and use.
It does have some age wear seen, including some minor surface scratches -- most of which are most obvious on the back of the pin. Most of these are only visible under close inspection or a loupe, but I did want to note it for accuracy. The biggest issue with this brooch appears to be a very unusual problem with the pin portion itself.
Although the safety clasp closure DOES appear to close correctly, I CANNOT get the actual pin tip to stay locked inside the clasp.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why this is the case; however, it is definitely aggravating to say the least. Ironically, though, when I tried to place the pin on my shirt -- and then closed the clasp while it was on my shirt, it seems to stay put -- as long as it is not jostled too much. I honestly cannot tell why this is, but as it is a quite obvious challenge at this point, I am definitely noting it herein. There is some additional minor wear to the cold enamel paint, but -- other than this -- I do not see any other major problems. There are also no missing or damaged rhinestones, either. Ultimately, I think if the issue with the actual pin piece can be overlooked or even repaired, it will make a very nice little pin. That said, I do want to make it abundantly clear that it DOES have this issue, too.
This is essentially why I have included a "Fair MINUS" in the rating, as well.
If there is anything I may have missed where the condition is concerned, please feel free to message me and I'll be happy to help. With age and use considered, I would still say this pin rates in
Fair to Fair
MINUS
condition overall.
AGE/YEAR MADE: Although exact age is unknown, I do believe this pin is vintage. An educated guess would be from the 1950s-1960s.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: PLEASE READ!
**
~ GENERAL ~
*** I do my very best to accurately describe the items I sell her on eBay; listing their imperfections as much as their attributes. I always note flaws so there are no surprises when an item is received. The items I offer are nearly always used, though, and therefore are not in, "mint" condition. In fact, I never use the word mint to describe an item. With that said, please do not misunderstand my sometimes low opening bids. They almost never truly reflect the actual value of any item. In fact, they are priced in such a way because I like to keep with the fun and excitement of an actual auction.
~ PAYMENT & SHIPPING ~
*** I kindly ask that payment for purchase(s) be made within 5 days of the close of the auction. Occasionally, I will offer a "Buy It Now" option: in those cases, payment is due as soon as the "Purchase Now" button is chosen. An automatic NPB (Non-Paying Bidder) notification will be sent after the 5th day if payment is not received. Paypal is currently the only form of payment I accept. I am more than happy to combine shipping on items, please just contact me prior to the auction's end. I can then send a combined invoice which will save you some money and me some time! :) Where shipping is concerned, I do my very best to ship items within 1-2 business day after payment is received.
~ PURCHASES & RETURNS ~
*** I strive to make your buying experience with me as excellent as I can. With that said, please contact me if you are unhappy! I will do everything possible to correct the problem. On nearly all of my items, if you are dissatisfied with your purchase, you are welcome to return it for a full refund within two weeks (14 days) from the day it was received. Return shipping will be paid by the buyer, though. In certain cases, I may sell an item for a close friend of family member that does not belong to me. Those are usually the only instances that I do not allow returns. I figure, if the item does not belong to me, I should allow that decision to be made by the person who does own it.
~ SORRY, I NO LONGER SHIP INTERNATIONALLY! ~
