    The 487 ft. ss
    New Bahama Star
    was originally built as the 9920 grt.
    Jerusalem
    ,
    delivered to the Zim Lines by Deutsche Werft, Hamburg in 1958.
    She could accommodate 573 passengers, and until 1966 made summer transatlantic runs and cruised in winters.
    In 1966 she was chartered to Peninsular & Occidental SS Co. for Caribbean service and renamed
    Miami
    .
    In 1968 her charter was cancelled and sold to
    Eastern SS Lines, and renamed
    New Bahama Star
    .
    Her maiden voyage came on March 10, 1969. She was renamed
    Bahama Star
    in 1972.
    In 1975 she was sold to Venzolana de Cruceros del Caribe (Venezuela), and renamed
    Bonaire Star
    .
    Intended for cruising but never sailed, sold for scrap in April 1979.
    While being towed to Taiwan she sank in the Pacific on October 3, 1979.
