    Description

VTG. 1964 MATTEL AFRICAN AMERICAN DROWSY, TALKS. Made in Mexico, this very hard to find African-American Drowsy doll has a pull string that pulls and retracts and she talks. Her “talking” case is behind the pull down flap on p.j.s and does not seem to be battery operated (see picture). It looks like the case was partially removed and the previous owner had trouble putting it all the way back inside the doll and rebuttoning one side of drop down flap. So, doll might need a “doll doctor”. There is a wear hole in p.j.s, her p.j.s show some fading and light soiling and there is paint loss in one eye (she is 55 years old!). Tush tag is intact, boldly printed in black but needs stitching to completely reattach to p.j.s. Here is what she says, “MOMMY, KISS ME GOOD NIGHT”, “CLOSE YOUR EYES, MOMMY”, “I WANT ANOTHER DRINK OF WATER”, “MOMMY, COVER ME UP”, + another phrase that I cannot decipher. And she laughs! See pictures as part of description. She is sold “as is”. SHIPPING CHARGE INCLUDES SHIPPING AND HANDLING. FAST SHIPPING **** (Black shelf side)
****PLEASE NOTE: Payment is due at auction close (IMMEDIATE PAYMENT). Please make sure your address and Ebay contact information are up to date. Sales to Hawaii and Alaska may incur additional shipping charges.
