WW2 Russian SSH-39 Helmet with original liner

We have this Russian SSH-39 helmet from the second World War.The liner is 1st issue, eight finger leather patterned after the German helmet liner of the day.You can tell it is very old,it's brittle to the touch and we have been reluctant to move it too much for fear of damaging it.The chin strap is there but it's no longer attached to the helmet.It also is extremely brittle but both seem to be original to the helmet.We think we can see the faint outline where the red star once was on the front but it's not certain.We haven't found any other markings on it but there's no doubt that it's authentic in our minds.
